THE PROJECT

Nuove Generazioni is a project that explores the link between tradition and innovation, past and future. On the one hand, it celebrates Friulian companies that have been able to renew themselves through the generational transition, keeping the roots of their knowledge alive and transforming it into value for the present. On the other, it investigates the role of artificial intelligence as a new creative medium, through an innovative exhibition of AI-generated artworks created by artist Giacomo Urban.

The project develops in a double exhibition path: a physical one, hosted at the new Fondazione Friuli headquarters in Udine, and a virtual one, accessible from all over the world through a digital platform. In addition to the exhibition, the programme includes meetings, workshops and guided tours, with the aim of stimulating debate on the future of art and work in the digital age.

New Generations is not just an exhibition, but an experience that invites us to reflect on how technology and creativity can dialogue, generating new visions and possibilities.

THE ARTIST

Giacomo Urban, 35, is a multimedia content creator who, since the beginning of his working career, has always shown himself to be at the cutting edge with the use of new technologies. Working as a videomaker in most diverse sectors, filming luxury objects, industrial machinery or delicacies in the world of food, football stars such as Ronaldinho, Messi and Neymar Jr. and much more, he has always kept abreast of what was new in the world of digital creation. Since 2022, with the emergence and subsequent explosion of generative artificial intelligence, Giacomo Urban has embarked on an individual artistic path centred on the creation of images characterised by a pronounced photorealism and the search for the thematic expression of the ‘power of fragility’. Artificial intelligence and, consequently, the images generated by it in this context, appear as an emotional and explorative dialogue between machine and human being, with a feeling of growth for both parties.
